The LigerBots will be hosting two FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competitions that are free and open to the public. The Newton Qualifier will be held Saturday November 18, 2017 and the Eastern MA State Championship will be held Saturday December 16, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Newton North High School. Hundreds of students, coaches, parents and siblings attend each event, and the public is invited to watch the competition and visit the maker fair. The LigerBots are hosting maker fairs at both events for exhibitors with something to show or demo, or who can provide a hands-on activity to do with students, and for STEM focused school and community programs and clubs. Past participants have included big companies like iRobot and Microsoft, tech startups with something to talk about or market test, local makers, STEM education programs and school-based programs with something to show, like Newton North High School’s Greengineering club.
